CASP is a Western Cape network of member organisations and concerned individuals working to alleviate the plight of street children, youth, adults and families. CASP offers an inclusive forum, promoting a spirit of shared responsibility and co-operation with an action based methodology of task teams, collective strategies, monthly meetings and constructive lobbying. CASP strives to work with rather than for street people. The purpose of CASP is therefore to:

DEFINITIONS

STREET CHILD: A person under the age of 18 years who for any reason leaves his/her family unit and community to live on the streets.

STREET YOUTH: A person over the age of 18 years and under the age of 25 years who for any reason finds him/herself living on the streets.

STREET ADULT: A person over the age of 25 years who for any reason finds him/herself living on the streets.

STREET PEOPLE: People who for any reason use the outdoors as a place of abode for a lengthy period of time, including children, youth, adults and families.
